Auto-Link Feature

Overview

The Auto-Link feature on digitalspaces.io streamlines the process of connecting camera positions to corresponding panoramic images (panos) in projects with a large number of images. By matching the names of the image files with their respective camera entities, Auto-Link can automate what would otherwise be a time-consuming manual process.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Ensure Consistency in Naming: Before using Auto-Link, verify that each pano image file has the exact same name as its corresponding camera entity. This is crucial for the Auto-Link process to function correctly.

  2. Selecting Images: In the software interface, locate the panel that lists your panoramic images. Select all images that you wish to auto-link (select the box on the left to auto-link to select all)

  3. Using Auto-Link: With all the relevant pano images selected, locate the Auto-Link button in the top toolbar of the interface. It is represented by a camera and an image. Click on this button to initiate the auto-linking process.

  4. Confirmation: The software will match the camera entities to the pano images based on identical names.

Notes and Tips

  • Auto-Link is case-sensitive. Ensure that the names match exactly, including uppercase and lowercase characters.

  • For projects with differently named panos and cameras, you will need to rename either the panos or the cameras so that they match before using Auto-Link.

  • If the linking does not work as expected, check for any typos or inconsistencies in the naming of your files and camera entities.
